How many organization on SecondLife or across all grids and Virtual worlds can truly and honestly say they give back to the real life community outside of donating to causes financially? Iota Sigma Rho is one, if not the only sorority that leads in these efforts! Especially around the holiday season, this is when our people and our communities need us the most regardless of your ethnicity.
So, be the change that you want to see and join the Iota women in a conscious effort to change the world one good deed at a time. This November and December we have set a goal of 100 can and non-perishable food drive give away. You, as an individual, or your organization can help us meet and exceed our goal.
How you say?? Well, it's quiet easy.
1.] Gather up any can food or non perishable food item. The more the better; however, there is no limit nor is it a maximum! Keep in mind your that the families that may receive your items are in need of good nutrition, so feed them as if you were feeding yourself.
2.] Legibly, write on a piece of paper (however creative you want to get, or not) "Virtual [Sorority/Fraternity/Life], Real Life Impact"
3.] Take a picture with the can food and/ or non-perishables AND the sign.
NOTE: Also, this is a good time to go through old/ gently use clothes that you, your family, or friends can no longer wear or have use for. Most food banks also accept clothing donations. Just check with your local Salvation Army, Homeless Shelter, Food Bank, and GoodWill.
4.] Send/ take the items to your a Salvation Army, Homeless Shelter, Food Pantry, or Food Drive. If they give you a confirmation note/ tax exemption, please keep it!
5.] Send picture(s) to iotasigmarhosl@gmail.com [OR] Saivee Resident [OR] Cherokee Bellic [OR] you can post it in our Facebook's "Partner In Service Group"
6.] In order for your contribution to count with our goal, you MUST fill out an OFFICAL can food count sheet. This sheet simply ask for organization information (if you are doing this solo as an individual just put "n/a" for that information), contact information and final can food/ non perishable food count.
**** Only one survey per individual/organization should be completed.******
